Concerts - Telemann Unfurling
Wotton, Watchet, London, Bristol and Abergavenny
Tour to raise funds for Palmusic and their initative training teachers and ex-students to take music to children in camps and other dire situations across Palestine. Palmusic is the UK charity that supports the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine.
The recording of the Fantasies by Telemann is imminent and so is a tour of these fascinating works for solo flute - this is extraordinary music that just keeps on giving! Telemann was a survivor of tragedy, a prolific composer, an innovator, a traveller and a pioneer of music printing techniques and composer's rights. In his day he was considered to be on a par with the great J.S. Bach. He left us 12 Fantasies demonstrating the 12 keys best suited to the contemporary flute as a demonstration of just what the flute could do on a technical and emotional level. Wonderful music! Do join me on the first leg of the tour ;
